Leaders of extraparliamentary parties about chances of winning elections

The extraparliamentary parties that do not have money have minimal chances of entering the future Parliament. Such statements were made by the chairman of the People’s Power Party Nicolae Chirtoaca and the head of the movement “Centrist Union” Mihai Petrache in the program “Place for Dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

Nicolae Chirtoaca said the parties with a lot of money will most probably corrupt the voters with food products and basic necessities. “Our voters cannot put up resistance to vote buying. They are morally and spiritually corrupt,” he stated.

However, the leader of the People’s Power Party puts his hope in the so-called protest vote. “The protest vote will play an important role in this election campaign. There is a category of voters who want to vote for the parties that are for the European integration, but are disappointed with the performance of those from the government coalition. Therefore, this category will give their vote to other right-wing parties. Regretfully, the extraparliamentary right-wing parties didn’t mobilize for this vote and a part of the voters may not take part in elections because of this. The left-wing parties will be thus favored,” said Nicolae Chirtoaca.

Mihai Petrache is more pessimistic and said that an extraparliamentary party faces the same problems as all the people in Moldova, especially corruption. He believes that the extraparliamentary parties practically have no chance, while the election campaign of this autumn will be full of abuses and constraints and the voters will be corrupted.

The two leaders confirmed that the parties they head will run in the November 30 parliamentary elections.
