Leadavschi and Nikitina win top prizes at badminton tournament in Chisinau

Vladimir Leadavschi won the men’s competition of the international badminton tournament “Winter - Chisinau 2018”. The 18-year-old athlete spectacularly won the final against Romania’s Daniel Cojocaru, IPN reports.

Leadavschi is considered a badminton player with great prospects in Moldova. He aims to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games, as his mate Cristian Savin does.

The women’s competition was won by Ukraine’s Svetlana Nikitina, who defeated Moldova’s Anna Cernetski in the final. The two athletes formed a pair in the doubles and emerged victorious. The tournament “Winter - Chisinau 2018” involved 150 athletes from seven countries.
