Lazar, Filat face misunderstandings
Prime Minister Vlad Filat said he regrets that he has to find out more information about the new contract for the supply of electricity from the press, not from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vlad Filat said he cannot say if the price of electricity for end-users will rise as he does not know details about the negotiations carried out on the new contract, but if they increase the Government will identify resources to pay compensations to the underprivileged groups of people.
The Premier said the economy minister informed him neither about the methods for rescheduling the historical debts of SA Moldova-Gaz to Gazprom, agreed in the meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission, which is co-chaired by Valeriu Lazar, and the initiative to create two gas supply companies, one in Chisinau and another one in Transnistrian
Vlad Filat said he has not been familiarized with the conclusions of the study of the legislation regulating the tariffs and the formation of prices of goods and services, carried out by the Ministry of Economy.
In a program on PublikaTV on Wednesday evening, Valeriu Lazar said he informed the Premier about the negotiations over the agreement on the supply of power early this week and asked for a 15-minute meeting with him to give him details, but his request was neglected.
Asked if he discusses certain initiatives or decisions of the Ministry of Economy with the Prime Minister beforehand, Valeriu Lazar said the regulations of the Government and the ministry do not oblige him to consult the Premier. He stated that as a minister he has obligations and is responsible for the state of affairs in a number of areas and thus works in accordance with them.
The Deputy Prime Minister also said that he is not afraid of the meetings with the executive teams of the ministries and the institutions subordinated to them that are set to start on Monday and will center on the implementation of reforms. “Those who do nothing should be afraid. I'm not,” he stated.
