Ana Ursachi, lawyer of ex-commissioner of Nisporeni Dan Pirlici, demands that judge Ion Plesca be changed in the case of Adrian Nichifor, who is accused of shooting Pirlici’s brother in 2010. The lawyer has told Info-Prim Neo that the participation of the president of the Chisinau Curt of Appeals in the hunting in the Domneasca Forest is one of the reasons for which they want the judge to be replaced. Ana Ursachi said that last September she asked changing the whole panel of judges that is examining the case of Nichifor at the Court of Appeals. “Then, Ion Plesca was seen in the company of Dorin Damir - the son-in-law and right hand of Vlad Plahotniuc (First Deputy Speaker – e.n.), who is the protector of Nichifor. This alarmed us,” she stated. The request was rejected and the panel of judges remained the same. “Besides the reasons we had then, we now have new motives – the participation of the judge in the hunting in the Domneasca Forest. He discredited himself and can no longer be impartial. Plesca lied when he said that he heard no shot. If he lies so easily, he may lie in our case too,” said Ana Ursachi. The hearing set for January 31 was postponed because the defendant’s lawyer was absent. The panel of judges transferred the hearing for February 14, when the request to replace Ion Plesca will be also examined. Adrian Nichifor is accused of murdering Iurie Pirlici, the brother of Dan Pirlici, who was then commissioner of Nisporeni, in a nightclub in 2010. The first court sentenced Nichifor to 17 years in jail, but the Chisinau Curt of Appeals ruled that the incident was accidental shooting and reduced the term to five years. The Supreme Court of Justice quashed the decision and sent it back to the Court of Appeals.
