Lawyer Eduard Digore considers the contract for the concession of the Chisinau International Airport was signed with violations of imperative norms and this makes the contract null and void. He said that a series of procedures stipulated by law were not respected. Furthermore, the concession contest involved companies that weren’t invited, IPN reports.

The jurist said that if it is established that the company that manages the airport didn’t fulfill its contractual obligations, the blame will be borne by this. In this case, the state sustains damage. It is prejudiced and has the right to ask for compensation for the non-fulfillment of contractual conditions. “In particular, dissatisfaction could appear with the investments made by the managing company, but this aspect should be proven. Regardless of the situation, either the contract is terminated earlier or later, the investor has the right to recoup the made investments. Disputes and contradictions could appear here, as regards the relations with the state. An audit will be definitely needed,” the jurist stated in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel.

MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Igor Munteanu said that effort has been made to give the impression that the problem of the concession of the Chisinau International Airport was already solved by transferring shares from a company to another. The state institutions should do their best to have this facility restored to the state.

Socialist MP Grigore Novac said that political will is first of all needed to have the concession contract terminated. Also, all the legal norms should be obeyed so that the state budget is not affected. All the rights of the opposite side should be respected and the faults in this contract should be determined. “All those who imposed this contract should be identified. (...) An investigation can shed light in this regard,” he noted.
