A lawyer from Drochia was caught red-handed in his office. The arrest was made by officers of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Anticorruption and Internal Protection Service of the Ministry of the Interior, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the lawyer was arrested immediately after he received €500 from a person to whom he promised he will influence the judge so that this gave the person a non-jail sentence for domestic violence.
When being questioned by prosecutors, the lawyer admitted his guilt and this was banned from living the place of stay. He faces a fine of up to 60,000 lei and at most five years behind bars for traffic of influence.
