The three MPs who defected from the Communist parliamentary group said they did it because they are tired of the boycott of the Parliament’s sittings, which, according to them, is useless, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We took this not at all easy decision. The people voted for us so that we represent them in Parliament. The people’s interests are more important for us and we will insist on promoting these interests. We agreed with the party’s administration to boycott the sittings, but this boycott lasts for too long,” Vadim Misin said after the June 7 meeting of the legislative body. Vadim Misin, Oleg Babenko and Tatiana Botnariuc remain in opposition to the alliance, but say it will be a constructive opposition. “We will study every document and will vote for the bills that are for the people’s benefit,” stated Vadim Misin. He also said that the defection from the Communist faction is not a project of Vlad Filat, Marian Lupu, Vlad Plahotniuc or somebody else. The three MPs do not have what to reproach the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin or other Communist lawmakers for. “We all remain faithful to the social ideas,” said Vadim Misin. He stressed that nobody represents in Parliament the Russian speakers living in Moldova and they undertook this task. “We will defend the interests of the Russian speakers from the Parliament’s rostrum,” he stated. Vadim Misin answered no question put by the journalists, saying he will answer them from next Monday. At the start of the June 7 sitting, Vadim Misin announced that he, Oleg Babenko and Tatiana Botnariuc decided to leave the Communist parliamentary group. The administration of the Communist Party hasn’t yet commented on this decision. Sources in the party’s antechamber said the Communist MPs were convoked and will make statements later.
