Chisinau 01.04.06 Info-Prim Neo /ccv/ The 6th congress of lawmakers of all levels from the Transnistrian level has decided to hold a referendum in Transnistria in order to choose a formula of peaceful coexistence of Moldova and Transnistria. In this regard, lawmakers recommended the Supreme Soviet in Tiraspol to examine the terms and parameters of the future referendum, including the possibility to invite observers from international organisations and first of all the U.N. According to a declaration that the congress adopted on Friday, March 31, Moldova is accused of tensioning the situation in the region, it urged to stop these actions and to come back to the peaceful negotiations interrupted on autumn 2001. The international community is invited to back Transnistria’s efforts to respect the peace and stability in the region. According to an appeal to the Russian State Duma, the participants in congress thank the Russian Federation for its support and activity as guarantor state. It asks the Duma to start recognising the so-called Moldovan Transnistrian republic as independent state. According to Tiraspol reports, the congress brought together 660 lawmakers of all levels.
