The MPs have dissimilar opinions as to how prepared Moldova is for the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit, where the Association Agreement with the EU is to be initialed. In the program “Good evening” on Moldova 1 channel, they said that a series of bills are to be adopted during the next several weeks, IPN reports.
Liberal-democratic MP Iurie Tap said that the Moldovans are prepared for the Vilnius Summit. ‘There is yet work to be done, but we are ready. We will work intensely,” he stated.
Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu said it is hard for him to say how prepared Moldova is. “The package of laws that was to be adopted before the summit wasn’t passed. The most recent example is the ambiguousness as regards the regulation of migration on the Nistru,” he added.
Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu said a lot of work is yet to be done during the several weeks that remained until the summit. “We will be prepared and will make everything possible to do our homework,” he promised.
Ion Ceban, a member of the Group of Socialists, said that Moldova is preparing to initial an association agreement whose provisions are not known at least by the MPs. “There are six weeks left until the summit. I don’t know if we are ready. Ukraine made public its agreement,” he stated.
Iurie Tap and Sergiu Sarbu said the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU is being negotiated and is close to be initialed by a perfectly legal procedure, while Ukraine initialed already the agreement and thus made it public. According to them, the provisions of the agreement will be made known after the initialing, after the accord become definitive.
