Law remains most demanded university major
The Law faculty keeps its leadership on the list of majors demanded by students at the 2012 admissions’ session. As the Ministry of Education said in a press release, among other majors in demand are Tourism, Economics and Medicine, reports Info-Prim Neo.
At the Law faculty there are about 20 to 25 students competing per tuition-free position, depending on the university. At the Tourism faculty the number is about 10 students per tuition-free spot, 5 to 8 students in Economics and around 7 students for Medical studies.
There about 5 applicants per tuition-free seat in Public Administration, International Relations, Technology and Public Food Management, and Journalism.
Until now, 19,503 applications were submitted to higher education institutions, for undergraduate and master’s degrees. 16,145 applications were submitted for undergraduate studies. Of the latter, 14,340 were submitted to state-funded higher education institutions and 1,805 to private ones.
The enrollment plan for the first year of undergraduate studies is of 6,745 state-financed seats, and 13,920 contract tuition-based one. The admission deadline is July 31.
