Law on Premier’s Control Staff passed in second reading

Moldova’s Prime Minister will have a Control Staff. A bill to this effect was adopted by the parliamentary majority in the second reading. The legislative initiative was put forward by the Government, IPN reports.

The Premier’s Control Staff will be created within the State Chancellery. It will examine how the central public administration carries out its tasks, will collect, generalize and analyze information about the matters within the remit of the governmental authorities. These authorities will be obliged to provide the documents and information asked for by representatives of this subdivision. The results of the inspections will be included in reports that will be presented to the Prime Minister, together with relevant conclusions and proposals.

The Control Staff will also verify the accuracy of the reports presented by managers of governmental authorities.

The bill was passed in the first reading last year.
