President Nicolae Timofti signed a decree to promulgate the Law on the Prosecution Service, which was passed by Parliament in the final reading on February 25, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, Nicolae Timofti also named a new vice director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS). This is Alexandru Balan. He replaces Alexandru Jizdan, who was named Minister of the Interior.

The new vice director of the SIS was named at the suggestion of the Service’s director Mihai Balan. Alexandru Balan is a career SIS officer.
