The law on access to property and divided usage of infrastructure associated with public electronic communications networks was adopted by Parliament in the final reading. The bill drafted by the ICT Ministry promotes the common use of infrastructure elements by the providers of electronic communications services, IPN reports.
Under the adopted law, the urban plans of the municipalities and towns and the projects to build, rehabilitate and reconstruct streets and public roads will mandatorily include the construction of underground channels for public electronic communications networks. The new residential buildings, except for private homes, will have the internal access infrastructure needed to ensure the provision of broadband electronic communications services up to terminal points of public electronic communications networks.
The bill simplifies and clarifies the procedures for obtaining and exercising the right of access to public or private property and encourages the divided usage of infrastructure associated with public electronic communications networks.
It was drafted in accordance with the roadmap for improving competitiveness in Moldova and the national plan of action for implementing the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union.
