Law lecturer held for bribery
A law lecturer at the State University of Moldova was held after she had demanded a student to pay 345 euros in order to organize the summer session in her absence. The professor was arrested and if she is found guilty, she may receive a 60,000 lei fine or sentenced to 6 years in jail, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release of the Center for Fighting Economic Crimes and Corruption, the lecturer told the student she could influence the examiners at the General Law Theory Department and could obtain her passing grades for all the exams and tests.
The professor confessed to the charges and is being prosecuted for traffic of influence.
