Latvia offers free visa to Moldovan citizens
Latvia is available to give free visa to Moldovan citizens cetăţenilor, Artis Pabriks, Latvian Foreign Minister said during the meeting with the prime minister of Moldova, Vasile Tarlev, according to government report.
The parts appreciated highly the bilateral and constructive cooperation relations, during the discussions.
Artis Pabriks mentioned that Latvia supports the European integration policy promoted Moldova, and announced the availability of his country to provide the necessary support. in this context, the Latvian foreign minister ensured that the visa regime for Moldovan citizens would be simplified by their free providing. In the same time, it was mentioned the fact that is expected new investment projects on behalf of Moldova in common interest areas.
Vasile Tarlev thanked Latvian authorities for permanent support provided to Moldova, especially in the efforts to reunite the country.
The prime minister underscored that the visit of Latvian president, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, in Chisinau, leading a businessmen delegation, foreseen for April 2006, would give an impetus to commercial-economic cooperation, mentioning the existence of an unvalued potential in this field.
In the same time, the prime minister accepted the invitation to make an official visit in Riga.
During his visit in Chisinau, Artis Pabriks also met with the chairman of the parliament, Marian Lupu, minister of foreign affairs Andrei Stratan.
