All the subdivisions of the Chisinau City Hall are clearing the yards and streets of downed branches, IPN reports.

The high winds pulled down green tree branches and these are being gathered by workers. Specialists are examining the other trees so as to avoid risks.

Premier Energy informed that the thunderstorm caused power outages in the central and southern districts of the country. A number of 48 localities in the districts of Criuleni, Orhei, Telenești, Călărași, Ialoveni, Hâncești, Cimișlia, and Leova are partially disconnected from the power supply. According to the Public Services Agency, the Multifunctional Center and the Vehicle Registration and Driver Certification Unit in Edineț are now not supplied with power and cannot work.

The citizens are asked to sidestep and not to touch downed or hanging electrical cables and not to become involved to repair electrical installations so as to avoid the danger of electrocution. Grownups are urged not to leave the children unsupervised as these can come in contact with electrical cables. Domestic animals and pets should also be kept under supervision.
