Today is the last day to apply for compensation for energy consumed in November. If the application is submitted after the 28th of the month, the compensation will be granted from the following month. During the cold season, applications can be submitted at any time, but compensation will not be granted retroactively, IPN reports.

This year the authorities have decided to offer energy compensation in monetary form, not in the bill. All households heated with natural gas, heat, electricity or solid fuel (wood, coal, pellets, briquettes) can apply for compensation. Payments will go to the eligible applicant's bank card or to post offices.

The authorities have not yet provided details on the size of the cash compensation. It comes as Moldovagaz has asked the National Energy Regulatory Agency to increase natural gas tariffs by about 40%. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that the decision to be taken by ANRE will be eximed, calculations will be made within the government and a decision will be made on how to help people this winter.
