The Central Election Commission warned that November 19 is the last day of political campaigning for the new local mayoral elections of this Sunday, November 21, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Commission.

Under the Election Code, campaigning is strictly banned on Election Day and the day before. In the period, electoral competitors cannot appear in TV or radio programs. The ban does not apply to information posted on the Internet earlier and the posters set up earlier. The contenders also cannot transfer money to or withdraw money from the Electoral Fund

The dissemination of electoral propaganda on the mentioned days by the mass media, election runners and private individuals is punished with a fine of 750 to 1,500 lei in the case of individuals and of 1750 to 2,500 lei in the case of electoral competitors or persons holding responsible posts.
