Those who want to take part in the designing of the best slogan for the tourism sector of Moldova can do it by August 17, 5pm. The deadline was extended at the insistence of bloggers who suggested that the slogans should be analyzed by civil society.
Contacted by IPN, director of the Tourism Agency Nicolae Platon said that 263 proposals were submitted to the Agency by the first August 15 deadline. On the initiative of bloggers, the deadline was extended by two days. By the afternoon of August 16, the number of proposals amounted to 361. All the slogan proposals will be published on the Agency’s website for public debates. In parallel, they will be analyzed by the specialized commission of the Tourism Agency.
According to Nicolae Platon, if the winning slogan is selected, it will be announced during the International Ethno Music Festival “Gustar” that will take place in Orheiul Vechi on August 24-25. If the winner is not decided, the contest titled “Best Slogan for Moldova’s Tourism” will be extended until September 27, when it is celebrated the International Tourism Day.
Nicolae Platon said they didn’t expect that the number of proposals will be so high. Proposals were also submitted by citizens of Italy, the U.S. and Romania.
The best slogan will accompany the tourism slogan of Moldova at exhibitions abroad, on promotional materials, etc. The winner of the contest will be awarded a dinner for two persons at a luxury hotel in Chisinau. The slogans must be sent to the email address tatiana.mumji@turism.gov.md. The contest results will be published on the Tourism Agency’s official website www.turism.gov.md.
