A truckload of 150 tonnes of solid pesticides collected in Ialoveni and Anenii Noi districts was taken from the Danceni storehouses to Poland, where they will be destroyed. The pesticides were collected with the support of the NATO Partnership for Peace Project, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, attending the project competition ceremony Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said now that the pesticides were removed, the people will enjoy better living conditions. They will be able to cultivate products with an increased food security level, which is an important goal in the liberalization of trade with the EU. The next objectives of the Government concern soil and water treatment.
Dangerous pesticides from Basarabeasca and Taraclia districts have been so far fully removed within the Partnership for Peace Project. The pesticides in another 12 districts will be destroyed this year.
