‘Last bell ring’ given for students from all schools of Moldova

School year end festivities have been held this morning, May 29, in all the education institutions of the country. The students came to the festivities dressed nicely and with flowers. The best students were awarded, IPN reports.

The Chisinau-based Lyceum “George Meniuc” this year is graduated by the 25th class. Attending the solemn festivity, the head of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the ‘last bell ring’ celebration is awaited by everyone. “A special school year ended, especially for those from the Lyceum “George Meniuc”. I want to congratulate you on your accomplishments. I wish the ninth and twelfth graders success in the exams, while the rest of the students I wish a nice vacation,” she stated.

The Lyceum’s principal Nicolae Babuc said the 25 classes of graduates were guided by teachers at school and prepared for their new life. “Regardless of the circumstances, the Lyceum “George Meniuc” remained an attractive and competitive education institution that provides services of a high quality and a lot of extracurricular activities. This was possible owing to the professional competence of the teachers whom I want today to thank for their devotion in educating the young generations,” he stated.

More than 6,000 students graduate from the lyceum or high school and about 6,000 finish the ninth grade in Chisinau this year. In Moldova, there are over 1,300 schools and lyceums. More than 350,000 students graduate from school this year. The graduation exam session starts on June 2.
