About twenty economic agents from China arrived in Chisinau to participate in the China-Moldova Investment Cooperation Forum. China’s Ambassador Yan Wenbin mentioned that Chinese investments in Moldova are limited and it is important to attract as many Chinese companies as possible to the country. The event is organized to stimulate bilateral economic cooperation and familiarize Chinese companies with the Moldovan market. The ambassador expressed confidence that Moldova represents a favorable environment for conducting business.
The ambassador communicated that it is the largest delegation of entrepreneurs from China visiting Moldova since our countries established diplomatic relations. The companies represented specialize in infrastructure, transport, agriculture, tourism. Yan Wenbin expressed his hope that both sides will take this opportunity to develop channels of interaction and explore possibilities of cooperation. The Chinese embassy will continue to make efforts to promote economic cooperation between China and Moldova, the Chinese diplomat added.
Sergiu Mihov, state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the forum will discuss the economic and investment opportunities offered by Moldova to the business community, bringing economic benefits to both countries and peoples. “The main interest of the Republic of Moldova is to reduce the huge gap in our bilateral trade balance by diversifying Moldovan products exported to the Chinese market and increasing the volumes of exported products. Our local producers are interested in exporting wine, fresh and dried fruits, oils, nuts, baby food and many other products to China”, the state secretary said.
Serghei Diaconu, head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, said that the Republic of Moldova represents a good opportunity for investors and anyone is invited to invest in the country. Serghei Diaconu encouraged Chinese companies to come to Moldova, assuring that the Government will provide them with a comfortable and safe environment, without bureaucracy or other obstacles.
Sergiu Harea, president of the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the forum is a good opportunity for cooperation between businessmen from Moldova and China, a good opportunity to inform about the process of doing business in Moldova and invite to organize business together.
The forum was organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.
