Largest apple pie ever to be made at Diaspora Festival Aug. 30

The largest apple pie will be made at the Diaspora Festival that will be held at the ethnic-cultural complex “Vatra” on August 30, starting at midday. The program of the event includes sports competitions, a handicrafts fair and a cooking workshop entitled “Cook without borders” that will be staged by representatives of the diaspora, IPN reports. 

At 3:30, there will be held the Great Feast, where Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and members of the Cabinet will prepare the largest apple pie ever, which will be almost 50 meters long. A pan with the diameter of over 2 meters will be used to cook it. All the participants in the festival will be able to taste the pie free of charge. Afterward, there will be staged a round dance of the diaspora. National singers will give a concert starting at 5pm.

Minibuses will travel to the complex “Vatra” from Sculeni quarter of Chisinau. They will set off from near the supermarket Green Hills at 10am and will run until 10pm, at an interval of about 20 minutes. The fare is 25 lei.
