Larger harvests this year, except for grapes
Agriculture companies and farmers this year have obtained larger harvests than the previous years, but the grape yield was poorer, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics.
The average corn grain crop was 31.4 quintals per hectare, up 31% from last year, while the sunflower harvest was 16.2 quintals per hectare, up 17%.
The average harvest of corn for silage was by 45% higher, of potatoes – by 18%, of field vegetables – by 17%, of stone fruit – by 50%, of seed fruit – by 2%.
The agriculture companies and farmers in northern Moldova gathered larger corn crops, while those in southern Moldova – larger seed fruit crops.
According to preliminary data, the average grape yield is by about 26% lower than in 2009.
