The meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council scheduled for August 30 didn’t take place because a quorum was not present. Of the 51 councilors, the meeting was attended by only 18. Acting mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu said that a new meeting will be set by an additional order, after all the groups working on the Council give their consent, IPN reports.
Nistor Grozavu said the agenda of the August 30 meeting included issues that need to be dealt with immediately. They refer to a lending agreement. The municipality is daily penalized for the fact that the works on the relevant project do not start. As the municipal councilors didn’t give the go-ahead, the treatment station at the waste dump located on Uzinelor St cannot be set up.
The Liberal councilors condemned the irresponsible gesture of the Socialist and European People’s Party councilors who didn’t come to the meeting, even if they were present in their offices at the Chisinau City Hall.
