Lack of exit-polls is not in people’s favor, Sergiu Ostaf

The representative of civil society, director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CReDO) Sergiu Ostaf believes that the lack of exit-polls this year is not in the people’s favor. According to him, this exercise is important for checking the correctness of the voting process and is an instrument that can provide information swiftly and can confirm the quality of the voting process.

“Knowing that considerable financial resources were allotted for different monitoring processes, I cannot explain why no exit-poll was organized,” Sergiu Ostaf stated for IPN. “It’s a pity that no money was found for such a necessary instrument for checking the quality of the voting process. It seems that all the players involved in this process reached a relevant agreement.”

The first exit-poll in Moldova was carried out in 2005. Since then, this exercise was repeated at all the elections.
