Three laboratories of the National Public Health Agency, based in Bălți, Chisinau and Cahul, were outfitted with consumables for continuing and extending the activities to detect cases of COVID-19. The donation was made in the framework of the project “Healthy Life: Reduction of Burden of Non-communicable Diseases” that is financed by the Swiss Cooperation Office and is implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, IPN reports.
The acquisition is worth 46,000 Swiss Francs, which is the equivalent of 840,000 Moldovan lei.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the donated auxiliary equipment and consumables will help to double the number of done tests: to 800 daily tests at the Chisinau central lab and to 300 daily tests at each of the regional labs in Bălți and Cahul.
