The service “Child’s Phone” is a public one and any organization can promote it by writing first an application to the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and based on the conception concerning the goal of the campaign and the way it will be conducted. The Ministry made such a clarification after a number of NGOs issued a letter whereby they ask not to promote the public service by the campaign of a private foundation managed by a politician, IPN reports.
The Ministry says that it analyzed the conception of the campaign “Protected Families” that was presented in July. Its decision to accept the cooperation proposal was based on the projected social impact and long term of the campaign. “The Ministry, as a central public authority, invites all the social players to become involved in combating domestic violence, either it is about institutions from civil society or the private sector, foundations and other players and partners interested in supporting initiatives with a social impact,” it is said in a press release issued by the Ministry.
The service “Child’s Phone” was launched in June 2014 and is managed by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. It helps the children in difficulty and children who are abused by parents, relatives or neighbors to have access to a child-friendly service.
A number of nongovernmental organizations on September 15 requested that the Ministry should withdraw the information about the “Child’s Phone” from the campaign “Protected Families” that was initiated by a foundation managed by a politician. These said the way in which the “Child’s Phone” is presented in this campaign can make those who promoted and will continue to promote this service to be associated with the given foundation.
