Labor Ministry launches campaign to support families

The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family has launched a five-year nationwide campaign to inform and support the families titled “Moldova a Powerful Family”. The announcement was made by Minister of Labor Valentina Buliga in the second National Parents Forum, IPN reports.

“Moldova can be a powerful country only with powerful families,” said the minister. In the immediate future, the Ministry will work out a plan of action for the campaign. “We will develop programs and practices that will educate and form a society with positive, optimistic and independent people, where charity and volunteering will be accepted values,” stated Valentina Buliga.

Forum participant Liuba Harea from Chisinau said this information campaign is welcome and they hope by it the parents will make themselves heard. She looks after seven children taken from a children’s home and received a monthly benefit of 450 lei for each of them, but the costs are much higher.

Parent Ana Postalache from Soroca district, who adopted a boy, said this campaign should inform the parents about adoption and about the joy of having a child. “I want my boy to have a better future. I will help him to study and when I’m old he will be my support,” she said.

In the forum, the Ministry of Labor offered diplomas of gratitude to the local public authorities of Floresti, Falesti, Orhei, Soroca, Ialoveni, and Ungheni and of Chisinau municipality for contributing to the promotion of reforms in the social assistance sector, especially for developing social services.
