Labor Ministry and Government plan to create equal conditions for all

The social protection policy pursued by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family in concert with the Government is designed to ensure social equity so that the benefits are offered in equal conditions for everyone, Minister of Labor Valentina Buliga told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “The provision of concessions to some of the beneficiaries violate the rights of the other categories of beneficiaries. We will continue to unify the pension norms and gradually reduce the existent concessions. The people must realize that we cannot provide benefits to certain recipients to the detriment of other recipients,” she said. According to Valentina Buliga, the state social insurance contribution in 2010 remained at the level 29% - 23% paid by the employer and 6% paid by the employee. The state social insurance contribution for the persons working under individual work contracts in the agricultural sector will be 22%, 6% of which will be subsidized from the state budget. The state social insurance contribution for the taxpayers who work at their own companies is fixed depending on a yearly tax that is 4,044 lei for 2010. The private individuals and land owners that cultivate the land by themselves will pay a fixed tax of 996 lei. The allowance paid at the birth of the child was raised by 300 lei from January 1. The monthly childcare allowance was also increased. The death benefit will be 1,000 lei this year. The revenues of the state social insurance budget for 2010 total over 8 billion lei, up 6.6% from 2009, while the spending is by 9.3% higher. The social insurance contributions remain the main source of income. This year, they will make up about 71.5% of the total revenues.
