Kuzmin will be replaced by Muhametshin in Chisinau
The Commission for Relations with the CIS States of the Russian State Duma confirmed Farit Muhametshin as Ambassador to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Russian portal “Novyi reghion”.
Farit Muhametshin will thus replace Valery Kuzmin, who has been Russia’s Ambassador in Chisinau since July 27, 2007.
In a press briefing last week, Valery Kuzmin said he was waiting to be substituted by another person so as to leave Moldova. “About a year ago, I asked the administration to find a person to replace me. I hope it will happen soon so that the time coincides with my personal and professional plans,” said Kuzmin.
Earlier, Farit Muhametshin was Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan. Since 2008, he has headed the agency “Rossotrudnichestvo”.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said they weren’t officially informed about the decision to replace the Russian ambassador.
