Kroll report will be published in truncated form, experts

The report by Kroll company will be made public, but the information about the involvement of high-ranking officials in the stealing of billions of lei from the three banks will be removed from it, political analyst Valentin Dolganiuc said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

According to the former deputy prime minister, the report will not contain concrete names. “The Prosecutor’s Office, the National Anticorruption Center and the other institutions are at the beck and call of the ruling oligarchs. The truth about the theft from the three banks can come out only if the political elite of the country is changed. Only this way will those to blame be held accountable and the money restored. It’s impossible otherwise,” he said.

Valentin Dolganiuc also said that as a result of this theft, every citizen of Moldova, regardless of age, became indebted and owes €6,500.  “Given the current economic conditions, the burden of this debt will persist for at least 15 years. The stolen sum represents the volume of pensions and social benefits for three years,” he stated.

Economic expert Viorel Garbu also considers that the authorities will publish the Kroll report in a truncated form. “The statements about the publication of the report, made by representatives of the ruling alliance, are a game staged by the politicians. The content of this report is of no interest to me. I want to know who committed this large theft as the money should be restored and those to blame should be convicted,” he said.
