The recently presented Kroll report is a very good document for manipulating public opinion and for misleading so as to divert attention from the main culprits and the strategic goal for which the banking system of Moldova was robbed, political commentator Victor Gurău was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel.
“This is mythology as the Kroll report does not refer to the developments at Moldova Agroindbank and the takeover of 42% of the shares with money from the given ‘carousel’’,” stated Victor Gurău.
According to him, the Kroll report satisfies political whims. “All the companies of Vladimir Plahotniuc that are enumerated in the document presented by Renato Usatyi were part of the lawsuit rejected in the Netherlands that involved Prime Media and that was filed by Victor and Viorel Țopa. Why was it rejected? Because at the court in London these could not prove that they earlier legally owned shares in the mentioned business entities,” said Victor Gurău.
Journalistic Veaceslav Balacci noted the Kroll report says nothing about businessman and former MP Veaceslav Platon, but mentions the leader of the National Liberal Party Vitalia Pavlichenko and her husband and also Eugen Rusu, but not the one who is related to Vladimir Voronin.
According to him, Veaceslav Platon was evidently excluded from the Kroll report as this indicates two banks owned by Platon that were allegedly involved in the bank fraud, but his name is not mentioned. “If this Kroll report is not recommendatory in character, why did we pay so much money for the investigation and why are there the names of Vitalia Pavlichenko and Eugen Rusu who is another person than the one who was involved?” asked Veaceslav Balacci.
The journalist noted the exclusion of Veaceslav Platon and other gaffes made in the Kroll report cannot be ordinary negligence. These are attempts with clear risks of elements of corruption for the report authors. “In the place of the National Bank, I would invite them to discussions in a juridical format,” he noted.
