As Moldova was allotted one spot at the shooting event of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, a national contest was held at Dinamo to decide who goes to Buenos Aires.
The winner is the Chisinau shooter Kirill Ușanlî, coached by the Olympic silver medalist Oleg Moldovan. Ușanlî outscored Evgheni Batarovschi and Daniil Leontean.
This takes the number of Moldovan athletes qualified for the 2018 Youth Olympics to 15. The Games will take place in Buenos Aires during October 6-18.
Moldova won five medals at the Youth Olyplics over the years. The only gold medal was won by canoeist Serghei, at the 2014 Games in Nanjing.
