Former Prime Minister and former minister of economy Kiril Gaburici has a double identity. In his second passport, only his patronymic was changed from Vasile into Valeriu, stated MP Kiril Moțpan. He noted that according to his information, Kiril Gaburici needed the second identity as in 2011 he was wanted by Russia for illegally crossing the border and for using false documents. The information should be verified and if it turns out that this is false, he will offer his apologies, IPN reports.
In the same news conference, Kiril Moțpan said that by a secret letter sent on July 1, 2019, he personally informed President Igor Dodon about particular illegalities committed in Moldova at that time and about the fact that Vladimir Plahotniuc had a double identity, the second one under the name of Novak, while Sergey Yaralov had a second identity under the name of Haikin or Haikim. “It seems strange to me when Dodon appears before the press and proudly makes revelations about which he knew 7-8 months ago,” he noted.
Asked by journalists to comment on President Dodon’s announcement that the manager of Trans-Oil Group Vaja Jhashi has a double identity, not Sergey Yaralov, Kiril Moțpan said he does not know for sure, but there is information that Yaralov has a double identity. He could not obtain more details from the Public Services Agency to confirm this information.
Kiril Moțpan called on the law enforcement agencies to determine to what extent the persons who reportedly have a double identity violated the legislation.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, ex-Premier and ex-minister of economy Kiril Gaburici denied having a second identity and having changed his patronymic. “I have had the patronymic Vasile since I was born and I’m very proud of my father’s name,” he stated. “It is regrettable and I cannot say what’s there behind all those assertions.”
