King of Sweden interested in situation in Moldova and regional context

King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden inquired about the situation in Moldova and the regional context in a meeting with Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, who is in Stockholm on a visit. The officials also discussed the cooperation relations between the two states and the expertise provided by Sweden to Moldova in the process of implementing reforms and in the European integration process, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu said that Sweden is one of the most important development partners of Moldova. The value of the projects implemented with the financial support of the Government of Sweden so far totals about €37 million.

The Speaker invited the King of Sweden to pay a visit to Moldova, speaking about the intention to set up a museum in Varnita village of Anenii Noi district, where King Carol XII of Sweden lived during seven years.

On February 9, Andrian Candu will meet with his Swedish counterpart Urban Ahlin and with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce and Innovation of Sweden.
