King Mihai of Romania urged Bessarabian students not forgive their language, roots and faith
King Mihai I of Romania urged the Bessarabian students not to forgive their language, roots, and traditions and to keep their faith in Church. A group of students and lecturers from the History and Ethnopedagogy Department of the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creanga” based in Chisinau met with the king at the Elisabeta Place.
“I have always said that Bessarabia is Romanian Land and Bessarabians are Romanians”, the Romanian media quoted the king as saying.
During the meeting, the students asked the king a couple of questions. Most of them related to the role of the former monarch in ending the Second World War, his feelings about the way he was received in the 90s in his homeland and about the hardship experienced during his exile.
Contacted earlier by Info-Prim Neo, the rector of the State University "Ion Creanga" and the pro-rectors on Education and Science said they knew nothing about this meeting.
