The kindergartens will have vacations, but not necessarily in summer. The period of the vacation will be decided as a result of consultations with parents and this can be taken in any period of the year. The decision will be posted in a visible place 30 days before the start of vacation. An order to this effect was signed by Deputy Minister of Education Lilia Pogolsa, IPN reports.

Under the order, the early education institutions will work continuously throughout the year and will go on vacation for a period so that cleanup, disinfection and repair works could be carried out or during the leave of the personnel of the kindergarten, in accordance with the Labor Code.

The order was made following complaints from parents about the introduction of a 40-day vacation period for kindergartens in summer. The parents said they do not have who to leave their children with because not all the employers are ready to provide leave in summer. In an open letter to Prime Minister Pavel Fillip, these complained that even if places are provided at other kindergartens in summer, these are situated far away and the given alternatives are thus unacceptable. Also, the periods when the kindergartens located in the same districts are closed are overlapped intentionally so as to invoke the lack of alternatives in the neighborhood.
