Kindergartens and children’s hospitals started to be heated
The heating season in the municipality of Chisinau opened on October 17, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca announced in Monday’s ordinary meeting of City Hall officials. The kindergartens, boarding schools and children’s hospitals will be the first to be heated, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to deputy mayor Vlad Cotet, the schools will be heated in two weeks. “The autumn vacation begins in a week so that the heating season in schools will start when the students return to classes,” he stated.
The housing stock will start to be heated in 10 days. The head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said the apartment buildings will be connected to the heat supply earlier if the district heads’ offices confirm that at least half of the dwellers demanded this.
“We should take into account the opinion of the dwellers given that the heat bills this year will oscillate between 1 000 and 1 500 lei,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
The heating season usually opens when the average daytime temperature during three consecutive days does not exceed 8 degrees Celsius. Weather forecasters issued a yellow code for frost for the period between October 13 and 18. Temperatures are expected to drop to minus 7 degrees Celsius. In the second half of the week, they will rise to 19 degrees Celsius.
