Kindergarten teacher gets 2 years for child neglect
The Balti Court of Appeals has sentenced a female kindergarten teacher to two years in jail and placed her on one-year probation after she failed to provide adequate safety conditions for a playing child, Info-Prim Neo learned from the press unit of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The 22-year-old was charged with child neglect after leaving playing children unattended in the yard of a rural kindergarten two years ago. Being left without supervision, a 6-year-old girl stumbled while running and fell on the asphalted playground.
As the medical expertise revealed, the child sustained injuries, some of them life-threatening, like head trauma with intracranial hematoma, which are linked to the fall.
The judgment may be appealed as prescribed by laws.
