Kindergarten in Hansca renovated with Romanian funds

The kindergarten in Hansca village of Ialoveni district was renovated with the financial support of the Government of Romania, which provided 3.4 million lei for the purpose, and with a contribution of over 6,000 lei offered by the local public authorities. The funds were used to extensively repair the roof, to replace the windows and doors and to refurbish the heating, ventilation, water supply and sewerage systems. The institution’s cooking facilities were also revamped, IPN reports.

The direct beneficiaries of the investment in Hansca include 70 children aged between three and seven, parents, teachers and the ancillary personnel of the kindergarten. A new children’s group is to be laid out inside the kindergarten. The heating station built within the same project supplies heat to the kindergarten and to the local secondary school.

In the inaugural event, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita said the program of technical and financial assistance provided by the Government of Romania to preschool institutions of Moldova is a success. “Romania firmly and decisively supports Moldova’s European course. By today’s event we bring a part of Europe to Hansca. To look confidently to the future, it is essential to sustainably invest in education, especially for the young generation. By our cooperation, we want to contribute to the institutional consolidation of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Daniel Ionita, being quoted in a press release of the Embassy of Romania.

Attending the event, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc thanked the Government of Romania for the constant and substantial assistance provided in renovating and equipping the kindergartens and the local communities for their receptivity and responsibility. “I’m glad that you become involved in the process of building favorable education conditions for these wonderful children. I’m firmly convinced that only by acting together, we can contribute to their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development, which is indispensable for the formation of the future active citizens,” noted the minister.

The Government of Romania allocated €26 million for renovating and outfitting kindergartens in Moldova. The funds were used to modernize 845 kindergartens through 940 projects managed by the Moldova Social Investment Fund.
