Kebab and shaurma booths were closed

All the booths of Chisinau, selling oriental kebab and shaurma goods and violating the legislation and sanitary norms, were closed as result of recent raids made by sanitary doctors together with the police of the city. According to the head of the Municipal Police, Petru Corduneanu, the control of food trading facilities, made on Saturday and Sunday, revealed multiple violations of sanitary norms. Infringements in 12 units of district Botanica, 14 in district Buiucani, 19 in district Center, 33 in Ciocana and 10 in Rascani were found out. For the moment, the activity of all units preparing and selling oriental goods was ceased, announced Corduneanu at the mayoralty’s operative meeting. The head of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, Iurie Panzaru, said previously that finding and suspending the activity of trading facilities of this type is rather difficult as, at the same time certain are closed, other are opening „as mushrooms after rain”. He also noted two cases of broking the seals put last week by sanitary doctors on trading facilities’ doors were discovered. Police draw up reports to their owners. On 27 and 28, other 76 units, selling food goods, especially kebab and shaurma, where checked 92 violations being found. The activity of 46 units was suspended.
