The members of the Party of Regions continue the hunger strike in support of employees of Moldova’s Railways (CFM) in the central square of Chisinau. The party’s leader Alexandr Kalinin noted the employees are threated that they will be dismissed if they support the hunger strike by taking part in it or by distributing information about it through social media, IPN reports.
“We insist and demand that the employees of CFM be paid the overdue salaries for six months. The Government does not react to our peaceful demonstration and to our requests to offer assistance to the families that haven’t been paid salaries for six months. The families have children and are in the situation to take loans to maintain themselves,” stated Alexandr Kalinin, noting that after seeing the demonstration mounted in the central square of Chisinau, the administration of CFM decided to pay the salaries for January.
Alexandr Kalinin also said that the party’s vice president Alexandru Elița felt sick in the morning and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. The authorities didn’t react. The functionaries walk through the corridors and in the offices of the Government Building, looking at them through the window, but no one goes out to listen to them. The state is captured and actions should be taken to change the situation and the people’s life. In several days, the people will make the most important choice.
Serghei Pashkov, vice president of the Party of Regions, said their demonstration is peaceful and their goal is to make the authorities hear the citizens. The people are tired of living in fear and of being divided according to political and geopolitical criteria. They are tired of lacking bare essential and of listening to promises only. The employees of CFM who didn’t get pays for half a year are a conclusive example.
The representatives of the Party of Regions called on the people to be united so as to save the Republic of Moldova and so that each citizen is proud of this state. There will be no other chance, according to them.
