The Ministry of Justice has said the fifth quarterly monitoring report on the implementation of the justice sector reform strategy, compiled by Promo-LEX and the Association for Efficient and Responsible Governance, presents conclusions based on wrong information. The reaction comes after representatives of civil society told a news conference that only 14% of the justice sector reform strategy has been implemented, IPN reports.
“We regret it that a report, which is generally positive, is presented by representatives of these NGOs in an erroneous way. An assessment process must be based on clear methodology and facts, not on subjective perceptions. It’s a pity that some of the conclusions were formulated based on incorrect information. Therefore, we are ready to analyze all the concrete proposals and call for correctness when making statements concerning the justice sector,” the Ministry says in a note.
At the same time, the Ministry of Justice approves of the interest for additionally monitoring the reformation of justice, alongside another seven monitoring groups consisting of officials, representatives of donors and members of civil society. The Ministry welcomes such involvement because only this way will the people know well the changes taking place in justice.
