The national Under-18 football team of Moldova suffered a 1-3 defeat to Germany in the first match played at the Winter Youth Tournament in Tel Aviv. The goal for Moldova was scored by Eugen Oancea with a penalty in the 9th minute, IPN reports.
The Germans tied towards the end of the first half and then inclined the balance in their favor in the second half. Moldova will yet play Serbia and Israel. In this competition, the national team is led by the vice president of the Moldovan Football Federation Ivan Testemitanu, while Ghenadie Pusca and Andrian Bogdan are second coaches.
Andrian Bogdan has recently left Astana after the team didn’t manage to win the championship of Kazakhstan.
On January 3 -12, the Under-18 squad will take part in the 16th international competition “Valentin Granatkin” in Sankt Petersburg. Moldova will be in a group with Slovenia, Estonia, and Russia.
