The days of June 1 and 2 will most probably be declared nonworking days. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection drafted a relevant decision that is to be approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.
International Children’s Day that is celebrated on June 1 is on the list of traditional holidays, not yet on the list of days declared nonworking ones in accordance with the Labor Code. However, under a Parliament decision, June 1 is a nonworking holiday. “Given this situation, the draft decision proposes considering June 1, 2023 a day off. Respectively, in order to enable the employees to optimally use the day declared a nonworking one and the weekend days, June 2, 2023 will also be a day off. Instead, the working hours in June will be extended,” says the draft decision.
For ministries, other central administrative authorities, public institutions, June 1 and 2, 2023 will be nonworking days for which the salary per unit of time is maintained.
The Republic of Moldova hosts the second EPC Summit on June 1, 2023.
