The Superior Council of Magistracy allowed taking legal action against a judge of inquiry from Rezina for passing a judgment against the law, IPN reports.
Prosecutors established that in May 2010, the judge illegally applied the legal provisions concerning amnesty and reduced by ¼ the non-served jail term of criminal Vitalie Proca, who was convicted of very serious offenses committed with special cruelty, in the presence of a minor, and which resulted in the death of two persons. In September 2010, the same judge of inquiry released the convict on parole.
After convict Vitalie Proca was groundlessly set free, this committed a number of very serious offenses on the territory of other states, including a murder attempt in Romania for which he was recently sentenced to over 21 years in jail by the Bucharest Court of Appeals, and a murder attempt against a Russian citizen in the UK.
