Journalist Liliana Vițu nominated for Audiovisual Council

Liliana Vițu has become the Government’s nominee for Audiovisual Council member, as decided by the cabinet today.

Vițu holds a license in journalism and communication sciences and a master’s degree in modern European studies from the London Metropolitan University. She is a respected journalist who worked with Radio Free Europe’s Moldovan Service and the national TV channel Moldova 1, among others, and has been described by the Government as having an “irreproachable reputation”.

The Audiovisual Council has seven members: three nominated by parliamentary groups, one by the president, one by the government, and two by civil society organizations. The candidacies are submitted to Parliament for consideration.

Also today, the Government appointed Galina Rusu as state secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research. She is a doctor of physics and mathematics and has worked for more than 20 years at the Moldova State University’s Mathematics and Informatics Department, being also its dean since 2015.
