Joint statement of Romania-Moldova justice forum

The Republic of Moldova and Romania will continue to implement the joint plan of action, with emphasis on the following areas: functioning of IT systems; judiciary statistics; electronic file; human rights; discrimination, and simplification of the penal procedures in Republic of Moldova. The joint statement of the Romania-Moldova justice forum was signed in Bucharest on November 24, IPN reports.

The cooperation between the Superior Councils of Magistracy and Superior Councils of Prosecutors will continue by providing expert advice in a number of areas. The new Mihail Kogalniceanu program of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Moldova for 2018-2020 in professional training was proposed for analysis, signing and implementation. In the field of probation, there will be implemented the protocol of cooperation between the two authorities, which was signed on the occasion of the current Forum.

The National Administration of Penitentiaries of Romania and the Department of Penitentiary Institutions of Moldova will strengthen cooperation in information protection and security.

The cooperation between professional unions will continue and will be strengthened, including through new cooperation protocols that will be signed. In the field of nationality, an agreement of cooperation between the National Citizenship Authority and the Public Services Agency will be signed by December 31, 2017. The sides also agreed to continue to hold the annual forum by rotation, in Chisinau and in Bucharest.
