The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) led by Maia Sandu and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPDA) headed by Andrei Nastase will later decide the common candidate for the presidential elections. The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will support one of the two candidates, it is said in a joint statement signed by the leaders of the three parties, IPN reports.
The statement says that the presidential elections of October 30 are an opportunity for eliminating the corrupt, antidemocratic and anti-people system, while the three parties are decided to combine forces and to use this opportunity in the most responsible way possible.
“The PPDA and PAS earlier announced their separate candidates for the presidential elections - Andrei Nastase and Maia Sandu, respectively. Aware of the risks posed by the participation in elections of the anti-oligarchic opposition with several candidates, the final decision on the common candidate for the presidential elections, chosen out of the two, will be taken at the opportune moment, in strict compliance with the electoral legislation, while the people’s opinion in identifying this candidate will be decisive,” reads the statement signed by Maia Sandu, Andrei Nastase and Viorel Cibotaru.
The three politicians say that good governance means governance in the interests of the people, especially of those who work honestly, not sterile reports about commitments on paper.
